KUALA LUMPUR - Mydin Mohamed Holdings Berhad (Mydin) contributed food baskets to 300 ex-servicemen from the Malaysian Non-Pensionable Ex-Servicemen’s Association (PVTTBM) today.

Mydin executive director, Ahimmat Mydin said the contribution was made through the Mydin Prihatin corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme in conjunction with Mydin’s 65th anniversary celebration and in concurrent with the National Month observance.

"It is a mark of appreciation for the contribution and sacrifices of the military veterans in the country’s fight for independence, besides reducing their burden from the rising cost of living. The aid includes rice, sugar, mee hoon, canned sardines and flour.

"With the ongoing global economic crisis, Mydin understands the plight of the people, especially the non-pensionable military veterans. Hence, Mydin with its supplier partners have contributed about RM10,000 worth of food aid for this group,” he said after handing out the contribution at the People’s Housing Programme (PPR) settlement in Jalan Jelatek, here.
