GTA will use Tanah Air’s logo in GE15 - Dr M

PUTRAJAYA – The four parties in the Gerakan Tanah Air (GTA) coalition will use a logo known as Tanah Air in the 15th General Election (GE15).

GTA Chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said his party would submit the application for the logo and registration of the coalition to the Registration of Societies (RoS) next week.

"Next week, we will send the applications," he said during the press conference after the GTA President Meeting at Perdana Leadership Foundation today.

The four parties in the GTA coalition are Pejuang, Parti Barisan Jemaah Islamiah Se-Malaysia (Berjasa), Parti Bumiputera Perkasa Malaysia (Putra) and Parti Perikatan India Muslim Nasional (Iman).

Dr Mahathir who is the Pejuang Chairman added that his party was confident that the RoS would approve the registration of GTA.

"Based on my political experience in Malaysia, it is close to the election, if Umno is in power it will not (allow for the) registration.

"(For example) in GE14, we know that Bersatu which has already been registered, had its registration suspended and Pakatan Harapan (PH) was not registered. That was their strategy.

"However, we are confident that this wrongdoing will not be done," he stated.

The Langkawi MP however said they have a Plan B should the issue occur.

In the press conference, he announced the list of committee members in GTA where Datuk Mohamed Ismail from Iman would hold the Treasurer post while Datuk Nizam Mahshar from the Malay Survival Committee NGO will take up the post of Information Chief.

For the Women’s wing, Datin Paduka Che Asmah Ibrahim (Pejuang) would be the chief, Nasrul Ali Hasan Abdul Latif (Putra) for Pemuda Wing Chief and Azlina Rajain (Berjasa) for the Pemudi Wing Chief.
