SHAH ALAM - The panel for Governance Investigation, Government Procurement and Finance’s (JKSTUPKK) report on the RM9 bil littoral combat ship (LCS) project has been declassified, said Public Accounts Committee (PAC) chairperson Wong Kah Woh.

In a Facebook posting, he said the PAC has received a copy classified report and will upload it to PAC’s website soon.

However, several sections have been "erased". he said.

Wong had attached a letter dated today from senior deputy secretary-general in the Prime Minister’s Department, Sollehuddin Alyubi Zakaria, to the PAC secretariat informing the PAC that the report has been declassified.

However, he said paragraph 2.39.1, 2.39.2, 2.39.4, Schedule 9, Schedule 10, Schedule 11 and Schedule 18 have been erased upon the advice of the Attorney-General’s Chambers,” said Sollehuddin.

It is not known why these parts were not included.

PAC had previously recommended for the LCS report to be released.

On Aug 4, the PAC disclosed that the government had paid RM6.08 billion for five ships to be delivered by August this year, but not a single one of them had been delivered.

Yesterday, defence minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein said he would present a proposal to the Cabinet to establish a royal commission of inquiry to probe LCS project at today’s Cabinet meeting.
