Put those involve in LCS fiasco behind bars, Syed Saddiq tells PM
KUALA LUMPUR - All political parties should be angry and demand accountability over the littoral combat ship (LCS) fiasco, said Muda president Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman.
"All of us whether we are in Umno, Muda, PH or Pas, we should be infuriated and demand for accountability now.
"The government must take action regardless of party leadership and probe those involved," he said during LCS protest held today, here.
He also supports Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob's move to declassify the report on LCS and urged the premier to ensure there were no cover ups..
"I hope there won't be any cover-ups and don't blacken the name of those who are involved. Show us the truth, and take action no matter how powerful these people are. Put them behind bars," he said.
Meanwhile Puteri Wangsa assemblyman Amira Aisya Abd Aziz said Malaysians should pressure the government to curb corruption.
She said some of them take to the streets to show their dissatisfaction over weaknesses in the government.
"Those who are not comfortable going down to street demonstration and more comfortable pressuring BN through social media, you can do that," he said to Sinar Daily.
About 100 protesters gathered near a shopping mall here from today to demand answers on the updates over the LCS project.
The group who called themselves ‘Turun Movement’ had gathered at about 2pm and demanded the government to probe the condition of the ships and also urged Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein to step down from his position.
At the rally, they were seen carrying placards, banners and black flags with 'H20 Letak Jawatan' and ‘Jawab Surat Panglima TLDM'.
The protesters also showed placards that read RM6 billion gone but not forgotten, 'Tangkap Najib', 'Cash is King and King is Rakyat' and more.
