Don’t stop sharing about Israeli aggression on Palestine, it helps - Aliza Kim
SHAH ALAM - Islamic Influencer and speaker Aliza Kim describes the recent Israel-Gaza situation as a humanitarian crisis, where the Palestinian people do not have access to enough food, water, medical supplies, and other basic necessities.
She said the people were broken with generational trauma as their families were violently evicted from their ancestral homes, and children having to watch their parents and parents having to watch their children be killed in bombs and airstrikes right before their eyes.
Kim said there were ways that the people from around the world could help, which was to keep on sharing, posting and reposting about Palestine and Gaza on social media.
“Post and repost about it. Keep the awareness and advocate for them whenever you can especially when they are under seige.
“Post and report so that people will see, read, understand and don’t become desensitised to this decades long human crisis,” she told Sinar Daily.
Most importantly, she said make sure the information came from credible sources.
Although Muslims have a special connection with Palestine, she said, supporting Palestinians does not necessarily meant siding with only the Muslims because there were also Christians and people from other religions living in Palestine.
“Supporting Palestinians simply means that you are human and you recognise that what is happening between Gaza, Palestine and the occupying forces is inhumane.” she said.
Besides showing support by sharing about the Israeli aggression on Palestine, people could also help the Palestinians survive from day to day by donating through trusted non-governmental organisations (NGOs).
This, she said was important to ensure that the funds truly reached those who were in need.
“Donations are critical in helping to rebuild Gaza and other affected areas after each attack.
“These are the crucial things people can do to help Palestine,” she said.
She said the recent attack in Gaza could be a political gimmick as some experts and Israelis viewed the aggression as Israel’s Prime Minister Yair Lapid’s way of gaining more votes in the election which was expected to be held in November, this year.
“Lapid has been serving as the 14th Prime Minister of Israel since July 1, 2022.
“He previously served as the alternate prime minister of Israel.
“It is suspected that Yair Lapid is using this round of attacks to show Israeli voters his strength,” she said.
On a different note, she said there were interventions from the United Nations, Qatar and Egypt to help control and calm the situation in Gaza.
“During their communication with the mediators on the morning of Aug 7, the Palestinian factions confirmed their readiness for calm in exchange for stopping the Zionist aggression, but the Israeli occupation leadership continued airstrikes right up to the ceasefire later that night,” she said.
Asked about the current situation in Palestine, she said after days of continuous attacks on Palestine, 44 people have been killed, 15 among them were children, and there were 360 casualties.
She added that 18 homes have been completely destroyed, 71 were uninhabitable and another 1,675 homes were partially damaged.
“These numbers come after 27 tonnes of explosives were dropped on the Gaza strip via 140 warplane raids by the occupation army over three days.
“At the same time, the occupation forces carried out a campaign of arrests in the cities of the West Bank, where they arrested dozens of innocent Palestinians.
“The Israeli occupation forces allowed extremist settlers to storm the courtyards of the Al-Aqsa Mosque,” she added.
