SHAH ALAM - PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today announces that Permatang Pauh MP Nurul Izzah Anwar has been appointed as the party’s leadership council chairman for three northern states.

He said Nurul Izzah will lead the party’s machinery for Penang, Kedah and Perlis in the 15th General Election (GE) In deciding the new leadership for the election, Anwar said the line-up in the peninsula has been decided except for Sabah and Sarawak which will be decided by the states’ branch chiefs.

“In the peninsula, I have decided to give the mandate to the vice-presidents.

"So, for Penang, Kedah, and Perlis, Nurul Izzah will lead in the preparations to face the election," he told reporters at a press conference after the Perak PKR Leadership Council (MPN) meeting, today.

He added that as for the other states, the party will review the appointment of the leadership from state to state until the election is over.
