KLFW founder Andrew Tan to look further into dealing with model payout issue

SHAH ALAM – Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week (KLFW) founder Andrew Tan has released a new statement earlier today, in regards to the backdated payment issues for modeling services in past KLFW shows.

In a report by The Vibes, he said: “For KLFW 2022 specifically, I will personally oversee all aspects of finance and payment will be made in full to our assigning Model Casting Director in advance to the Fashion Week.

Sinar Daily has attempted to follow up with Tan following the report, however Tan’s reps said to refer to his statement as released by The Vibes.

Tan has urged models and others with payment issues from past KLFW shows to contact him directly at [email protected].

He also clarified that the terms of payment will be settled accordingly according to the cases respectively.

The fashion director admitted that there were delays in payments, however they were faced with great challenges in the last two years due to the pandemic.

“We are hopeful with the economy opening back and KLFW back on again this year, we will be able to rectify all our dues.

“We apologise to everyone affected and hope for everyone’s understanding as we try to revive the Malaysian fashion industry after two-years worth of stagnation, uncertainty and losses,” he added.

In addition, Tan expressed his gratitude and thanks to all who have been supportive of the event.

“To everyone who has played a role in KLFW, we’d like to thank you for your continuous support,” he said.

KLFW 2022 is due to take centre stage at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, on Aug 17 to 21.
