Politically Frank: It's Umno's propaganda to label DAP racist, says Rayer

SHAH ALAM - Umno remains the biggest threat to DAP due to its endless propaganda over the opposition party, said Jelutong MP RSN Rayer.

He also denied claims that DAP is a Chinese-based party as they have members from various races.

“DAP is not a Chinese party, and I certainly don't look like a Chinese. It is a multi-racial party.

“We have Tengku Zulpuri Raja Pujiin, along with other state Malay assemblymen in DAP," he told Sinar Daily’s Politically Frank that .

He also commented on Malaysia Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) recent move to detain those linked to Penjanakerjaya, a public programme to help youths secure jobs through training.

He called for more transparency in the way contracts are given and urged for an enquiry to be set up in Parliament to look at the issue.

“We have always said the programme should be reported to the Parliament as there are committees to oversee the granting of contracts such as the Penjanakerjaya,” he said.

In addition, Rayer recommended those responsible for Penjanakerjaya to be called out to the Parliament in order to ensure tax payers money are well used and to curb any leakages in Penjanakerjaya scheme.

“Those responsible for Penjanakerjaya, or the Human Resources Minister should be made responsible to answer questions to Parliament.

“All forms of grants made by the government, not only Penjanakerjaya should be made answerable to the Parliament in order to try and eradicate poverty as well as alleviate the welfare of the people,” he added.
