SHAH ALAM - Severe flash floods caused a section of road in Belaga district at Central Sarawak to collapse, causing road closure, Sarawak PKR information chief Abun Sui said.

He said he had received distress calls for assistance from motorists stranded on the road as a result of the abrupt collapse of the damaged section.

“An entire section of the highway has been swept away.

“It cracked apart after being swamped by flash floods caused by water torrents from the nearby mountains during the past day of non-stop rain,” he was quoted by The Vibes.
