Sole survivor of MRR2 flyover tragedy being treated in ICU

SHAH ALAM - The five-year-old boy who survived a fall from a 20-metre high flyover after being tossed down by his father is still being treated in the intensive care unit (ICU).

Sentul district police chief ACP Beh Eng Lai said the boy gained conscious after being treated at the Selayang Hospital.

He said the boy who suffered from severe injuries, was believed to have shown signs of recovery.

"We will refer the matter to the Immigration Department since they (the boy and his family) are refugees and possess the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) cards," he said when contacted.

Yesterday, it was reported that a 38-year old Myanmar national tossed his three children from a flyover at the Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2).

The man was also found dead as he had jumped off after having thrown off his children, an eight year-old girl, a boy who is around six to seven-years-old and a five-year-old boy.

The youngest was the sole survivor of the fall.

All the bodies were sent to Kuala Lumpur Hospital forensics unit for post-mortem.
