KUALA LUMPUR - Two children died while another was seriously injured after being thrown by their father from a 20-metre high flyover at the Middle Ring Road 2 (MRR2), here, on Tuesday.

Sentul district police chief Assistant Commissioner Beh Eng Lai said in the incident at 5.50am, the suspect who was a Myanmar national also threw himself from the overpass.

Beh said based on the statement of an eyewitness, the 38-year-old man was seen walking while carrying a child and his right and left hand holding the hands of the other two.

"The witness tried to approach the man but he suddenly threw the child he was carrying and the two others from the flyover. The man also fell from the flyover afterwards.

"All the victims were found by the side of the road near the traffic light in Desa Jaya," he said in a statement on Tuesday.

He said the suspect and two of his children were pronounced dead at the scene, while the other child who was seriously injured was taken to the Selayang Hospital.

He said all the bodies were taken to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL) forensics unit for post-mortem.

"The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
