SHAH ALAM - Muda today launched its Citizen's Assembly in Puteri Wangsa to raise local issues faced by residents to the state government and local councils as part of its manifesto in the last Johor state election.

Party president Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman said the assembly will be headed by Johor state assemblyman Amira Aisya Abd Aziz.

"This manifesto was carried out through hard work, it is a political commitment," he said in his Facebook posting.

Syed Saddiq, the Muar MP said that the assembly will discuss, debate and raise people's issues to the state government and authorities.

He added that it will work similarly to US, Canada, Ireland and the UK.

In UK, a citizens’ assembly is a group of people who are brought together to learn about and discuss an issue or issues, and reach conclusions about what they think should happen. It helps decision-makers to understand people's informed and considered preferences on issues that are complex, controversial, moral or constitutional
