Two died in car-trailer crash at LPT1

KUANTAN - Two victims died after the car they were travelling in was involved in an accident with a trailer at Kilometre 126 of the East Coast Expressway 1 (LPT1) in Temerloh earlier today.

The victims were the driver and passenger of a Perodua Myvi vehicle identified as Tan Wee Li,39 and Nur Susilawati Che Deraman, 35.

The driver and passenger of the trailer were reported to be safe.

Pahang Fire and Rescue Department Public Relations Officer Zulfadli Zakaria said they received a distress call on the incident at 2.47am.

Following the report, a team from the Temerloh Fire and Rescue Station were sent to the location to aid in the emergency.

"Upon arrival, the team found out that there was an accident involving a trailer and the car.

"In the accident, the driver and passenger were pinned in the wrecked vehicle and succumbed to their injuries," he said.

Zulfadli said the firemen assisted to extricate the victims’ bodies before they were handed over to the police for further actions.
