GRS discusses preparations for GE15

KOTA KINABALU - The 15th General Election (GE15) which will take place soon requires Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) to get ready in advance.

Its chairman Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said discussions on the preparation of the party's machinery was one of the matters covered in the GRS meeting with its Supreme Council members.

“The general election is anticipated to take place at any time.

"We need to make preparations in advance so that our election machinery is ready for the upcoming GE,” he said after chairing the meeting at the GRS headquarters in Alamesra on Saturday.

The meeting was also attended by the three GRS deputy chairmen, Datuk Seri Dr. Maximus Ongkili, Datuk Seri Dr. Jeffrey Kitingan, and Datuk Seri Yong Teck Lee.

The Sabah Chief Minister also said each constituency will hold a "roadshow" or a tour programme called “GRS Bersama Rakyat”.

"The roadshow will be held starting August," he said.

On another development, Hajiji said the applications from political parties interested in joining GRS were not discussed in the meeting.

"As of now, no decision has been made regarding the participation of other parties in GRS.

"This matter will be discussed in the next meeting," he said.
