Abortion has long been taboo in Malaysia, and even though it is legal, there are incredibly tight regulations for it.
Health Ministry tracked 41,083 unplanned teen pregnancies between 2017 and 2022, of which 14,561 cases or 35 per cent were out of wedlock.
