Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are now husband and wife
NURUL AISYAH MOHD NORLAS VEGAS - Sometimes, love is worth a second chance. Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck can very well attest to this as the couple who rekindled their romance last year and got engaged in April this year, are now officially husband and wife.
According to media reports, the star couple who is fondly known as "Bennifer", tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Las Vegas, two decades after their initial split.
Lopez, 52, confirmed the Vegas wedding in her newsletter, ending the letter with a new name, Mrs. Jennifer Lynn Affleck.
"Last night we flew to Vegas, stood in line for a license with four other couples, all making the same journey to the wedding capital of the world.
"We barely made it to the little white wedding chapel by midnight. They graciously stayed open late a few minutes, let us take pictures in a pink Cadillac convertible, evidently once used by the king himself (but if we wanted Elvis himself to show, that cost extra and he was in bed).
"We read our own vows in the little chapel and gave one another the rings we'll wear for the rest of our lives. In the end it was the best possible wedding we could have imagined," she wrote.
It was reported that Lopez had worn a dress from an old movie and Affleck wore a jacket from his closet.
The pop star couple first met on the production of the film Gigli in 2002 before taking their romance off screen but postponed their 2003's marriage plan.
This would be Affleck's second marriage - the first was with fellow actress Jennifer Garner who he shares three kids with.
Meanwhile, this marks Lopez's fourth time tying the knot. She was previously married to Ojani Noa, Criss Judd, and Marc Anthony who she shares two children with.
