SHAH ALAM - Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said former premier Datuk Seri Najib Razak does not understand the suffering of the people, creating an unhealthy dependency within the poor to receive cash from the government.

Referring to Bantuan Rakyat 1Malaysia (BR1M) during Najib's era, he asked if such assistance was adequate as what people need is help to free them from poverty.

"These are two different things

“I dont think Najib actually understands the suffering of the people," he said during the press conference after the PKR Annual National Congress held at IDCC Shah Alam, today.

Anwar was asked to comment on Najib's statement that Anwar knows that all countries are hit with inflation and the opposition were afraid of ending the memorandum of understanding (MoU) to make way for elections.

Anwar said the MoU has specific demands including Covid-19, Undi18, measures for the poor, pver parliamentary select committees, reform, anti-hopping law and freedom for the judiciary.

He said it is obvious that Najib will not agree with the MoU as it also includes the freedom of the judiciary.
