SHAH ALAM – The outcomes of the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) 2022 polls which saw several commotions, may have a significant consequence on the party.

Political analyst Dr Jeniri Amir said not only would the situation contribute to conflicts within the party, but would also reflect the party’s image badly in the upcoming General Election 15 (GE15).

“Of course, the different results after the audit were concluded will give huge implications and effects, especially on how the election committee conducts the voting process.

“The messy result eventually develops more questions than answers among the members and grassroots. This election is an important matter of appointing those who are qualified to lead the party.

“However, if the decision has been made until triggers doubt, of course that will put the party in a bad situation in the eyes of its members and also public,” he told Sinar Harian on Monday.

The recent PKR polls were tense with several varying results at some areas following re-elections.

A forensic audit of the party election’s result conducted showed the Ketua Wanita post which Rodziah Ismail previously won, had changed to her rival who was also the state assemblyman, Senator Fadlina Sidek.

Dr Jeniri further explained he was worried the election result would develop fractions in the party.
