SHAH ALAM - Malaysia recorded 2,799 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, a slight decrease as compared to 3,589 cases yesterday.

Eight deaths due to Covid-19 were reported on Saturday, bringing the total number of deaths in Malaysia to 35,809 since the pandemic began.

Another 1,156 are hospitalised with 26 requiring ventilator support.

Currently there are 35,323 active Covid-19 infections in the country, with 96.6 per cent of patients, or 34,107 individuals being quarantined at home.

The Health Ministry (MoH) also recorded 2,666 recoveries yesterday.

To date, Malaysia has recorded 4,592,710 Covid-19 cases since the pandemic began.
