No cases of kidnapping, sale of children's organs - Police
SHAH ALAM – Police today refutes claims that there are cases of children kidnapping and trafficking of the victims to neighbouring countries to be killed and sell their organs.
Federal police Inspector-General of Police corporate communications secretariat Superintendent Skandaguru Anandan in a statement said the force had come across fake viral messages that asked the public to be vigilant regarding the kidnapping incident.
"We would like to confirm that there were no police reports lodged regarding the child kidnapping and sale of organs incident as claimed and investigation revealed that the message had been spread since 2017," he said.
In the message, it stated that a group of children were kidnapped, and given illegal substances (drugs) up to the point that they could not speak.
The children were then put on a lorry and transported to neighbouring countries for organ transplants.
The viral message further claimed that that authorities had inspected the lorry and found six children where three of them could not speak as they had been injected with drugs and the kids were sent to neighbouring countries to be killed as well as their internal organs sold.
Skandaguru advised the public to not easily believe unfounded and unverified news, and any individual caught spreading false news could be investigated and prosecuted under Section 233 of the Communications Act 1988, for improper use of network facilities.
