KUALA LUMPUR - Actor and director Datuk Hans Isaac broke traditions after winning the PKR Ampang branch chief position in the 2022 PKR polls after a recount on Wednesday.

This comes following voting misconduct at the branch on May 21.

Based on the results on the 2022 PKR Selections websites, Gerald Hans Isaac, 51, won with 748 votes.

He had won against another celebrity, Altimet or his real name Syed Ahmad Syed Abdul Rahman, 43, with a difference of two votes against the rapper.

Three other competitors were Abdullah Md Zain with 101 votes, Sam Hoo Wai with 70 and Abdul Latif Shaari with 10 while Abdul Halim Mohamed Yusof had withdrawn from the reelection.

On May 29, Daing Muhammad Reduan Bachok won against Hans and Altimet with 942 votes while the others received 609 votes and 589 votes respectively.

However, following the breach of etiquette in the selection process, PKR selection committee had established an investigation panel that discovered Daing being involved in 'buying votes'.

Hans officially uploaded on his Instagram account which confirmed his victory as the new Ampang branch chief.
