SHAH ALAM - Popular rapper Altimet who is vying for a position in PKR polls said there is nothing wrong over how party elections were held despite strong objections from some who lost in the unofficial vote counting on May 29.
However, he said he could not say the same about other divisions. For his Ampang branch, he said the elections were clean and fair although he lost.
“I don't think anything went wrong, I think everything went right. I think we should, as a party, show the nation that we are able to hold a democratically fair and clean election.
“I can't speak for other divisions but in Ampang branch it was clean, no mark-wrecking, there was no negative stuff going on and there was a high degree of sportsmanship involved, I mean I'm still on good terms with other candidates and I accept the result,” he told Sinar Daily's Politically Frank.
He joined PKR as it is a multi-racial party, he said.
“I think PKR faces the same challenges that other political parties are facing right now including leadership issues, unity and factionalism,” he said.
He also said that his aspirations is to make the masses realise that in maturing democracy, it was not about gender, profession but it's important to be politically cognistic over what is going on.
“Every individual can contribute in their own way, be it actively or passively and through different fields, sometimes you can just contribute by doing your job well and it doesn't matter what job you are doing or what line you're in. That is my aspiration,” he said.
