#RasuahBusters anti-corruption campaign continues in Kuantan
KUANTAN - Rasuah Busters resumes their national tour to Kuantan, Pahang today with hope to create more visibility and spread the message on anti-corruption to the public for three days starting from today to June 28.
The group greeted the masses at Teluk Chempedak beach, one of the famous tourist spots in the state, to hand out their Rasuah Busters kits that includes face masks, car stickers and t-shirts as one of the initiatives to create awareness on corruption.
Its Chief Executive Officer Nurhayati Nordin said the convoy was targeted to have crown activation from each state and meet the coalition of the willing to support the movement at the state level.
“We are able to have stronger engagement with our coalition partners, civil societies, individuals and the stakeholders through this.
"We are certain we can create corruption prevention from the people and for the people," she said.
Sinar Daily also approached a few who were visiting the beach to ask about their opinions on corruption.
Lim CF described Malaysia's corruption activities as "sickening and embarrassing" having being known as one of the most corrupt countries in the world.
He cited the Wall Street Journal's report published on Friday (June 25) citing Malaysia as the number one most corrupted country in the world for doing business.
"I hope the younger generation is aware of the situation and this is no longer a 'race' thing, I am almost 60 but what is going to happen to the future generation if corruption is still rampant?" the 59-year old said.
Isma Othman, 29, meanwhile said that corruption was not always about the money but how people do their work with integrity.
"Since I have no 'power', so (I think) it starts from the individuals themselves to start doing their job with a sense of responsibility and as a Muslim, we do things the halal way," she said.
The convoy continues tomorrow.
