IPOH - Perak Perak has invited Pasir Salak MP Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman who was dropped from the Umno Supreme Council to contest under Perikatan Nasional (PN) ticket in the coming general elections.

State Pas commissioner Razman Zakaria said the former Prasarana non-executive chairman could consider the invitation if he was not given a place by Barisan Nasional (BN) to contest in the Pasir Salak parliamentary seat in the 15th General Election (GE15).

"It is said GE15 will happen at any time. If Tajuddin is not given a place by BN, then Perak Pas is ready to offer him a seat.

"He can contest on a PN ticket and represent Pas in Pasir Salak," Razman said in a short video uploaded on his official Facebook yesterday.

The Perak Plantation, Agriculture and Food Industry Exco added that the invitation was made not to interfere in the affairs of other parties but after taking into account the current situation as some want GE to be held immediately.

"The statement that the GE will take place at any time is not only from the leaders of the court cluster but also from the prime minister himself," he said.

Sinar Harian on Thursday reported that Tajuddin was dropped from the Umno Supreme Council membership from June 21 on the grounds that he was being critical of the party.

Prior to this, Tajuddin was also dropped as Umno's Election Director and was often seen disagreeing with the party's top leadership on several issues, including the timing of GE15.
