KUALA LUMPUR - Malaysian Association of Tours and Travel Agents (Matta) aims for growth of 300 new agents with more than 3,000 packages by the end of the year.

The expectation was achievable with the official launching of Matta Online platform today.

Its President Datuk Tan Kok Liang said they have more than 300 unique packages with more than 150 travel agents and tour operators registered with the platform until now.

“Our members will be able to reach 16.29 million Malaysians upon the official launch of the Matta Online platform,” he said in his speech during the launch today.

Tan added the target would not be limited to Malaysians, but the association was also looking forward to attract global consumer audiences.

“This platform is uniquely positioned to serve the small and medium entrepreneur (SMEs) as well as protect consumers by providing a safe, regulated, and trusted environment to shop for travel packages.

“Moreover, through Matta Online, we provide travellers a safe and more trusted alternative by eliminating scammers, internet fraudsters and unlicensed travel agents that operated through social media and irregulated platforms,” he said.

The online platform, Tan said, would not be a success without the collaboration with the largest data technology company, Fusionex Group.
