KUCHING - Puncak Borneo MP Willie Mongin has applied to be a member of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB), a party led by Sarawak Chief Minister Abang Johari Openg.

The deputy Plantation, Industries and Commodities Minister said the application to join the local party was made "a couple of months back."

According to DayakDaily, Mongin said it is now up to PBB’s top leadership to accept his application.

“I hope that my application to join PBB will be considered so we can work together for the betterment of the people of Puncak Borneo, the state and the country," he added.

Mongin today said he had not joined any political party but "it cannot be denied that I am parked under Bersatu to bring the number to support the government of the day.

“Today, I still support the current government to continue serving the people,” he said.
