Four-year-old in critical condition for consuming meth

KOTA BHARU - A four-year-old child in Kampung Sri Bintang, Kuala Krai is in critical condition due to drugs.

Kelantan Acting Police Chief Datuk Muhamad Zaki Harun said undergoing treatment at Hospital Raja Perempuan Zainab II.

"At 5am on Sunday we received a report from a doctor in Hospital Sultan Ismail Petra, Kuala Krai regarding a child in a critical state due to drugs.

"The victim was brought in by his mother," he said during a press conference in Kelantan Police Contingent Headquarters (IPK) on Monday.

He said investigations showed that the child was brought by his uncle aged 32, a drug addict and it is unclear if the child was exposed to methamphetamine.

He said the uncle, a labourer has a record of three former offences and has been arrested at 10pm on Sunday.

The case will be investigated under Section 31 (1) (a) of the Children's Act 2001," he said.
