SHAH ALAM - Social media users are raging over the delay in LRT trains in Klang Valley over the past few days.

Some posted photos and videos of crowds in the train stations and on escalators.

A Twitter user, Mathana Muhilan said: “I have complained hundreds of times about the poor public transportation system in Malaysia.

“I am too tired. Just look at the scene right now in Pasar Seni,” he tweeted.

Twitter Farizam posted a photo of people on an LRT station escalator, questioning if Rapid KL that runs public transportation system owned by Prasarana Malaysia and operated by its subsidiaries Rapid Rail and Rapid Bus, are waiting for people to crash over one another.

Other twitter users had also urged Putrajaya to take immediate actions to ease the long queues as people take transport to work and colleges.

Another twitter, Philip Ng urged authorities to carry out spot checks at LRT Pasar Seni since Rapid KL and the Transport Ministry has neglected the public safety measures despite countless complaints made.

Rapid KL replied to one of the tweets concerning this issue, apologising for the inconvenience caused but it added fuel to the fire as commuters asked the rail company to do better.

“Hi. Thanks for the feedback. Rapid Rail is aware and this matter has been shared with the relevant division for the improvement of crowd control at the station.
