World famous K-pop group BTS made a shocking announcement during their televised ninth anniversary celebration last night as they broke the news that they will be taking a break from group activities to focus on solo projects.

The boy band said the decision was made for them to spend some time apart and pursue solo projects in order to “learn how to be one again”.

The dinner, which is an annual affair, sees the group reminisce their journey and accomplishments, and they also discuss their future as a band.

The septet expressed their gratitude to their fans and reassured them that the break is necessary for the team to stay together for a long time in the future.

“We are going into a hiatus now,” said Suga, in the video before Suga insisting they are not breaking up, to ease the worries of their fans.

“I hope you don’t see this as a negative thing, and see it as a healthy plan.

“I think BTS will become stronger that way,” J-Hope said.

Another member, Jimin said the group had been going through a “rough patch”.
