Legendary comedian Hamid Gurkha dies from TB
SHAH ALAM - Legendary comedian Hamid Gurkha, 90, passed away due to tuberculosis and other complications today.
Abdul Hamid Abdul Rahman or more commonly known as Hamid Gurkha was pronounced dead at Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang at 2.19 pm.
His passing was confirmed by the administrator of his Facebook account through a post this afternoon.
"Assalamualaikum to all Pak Mid's fans. Pak Mid has left us all.
"May his soul be showered with blessings and placed among the righteous," the statement read.
Hamid, who first became known through the film Panglima Badol in 1978 and his wife, Timah Abdul Hamid, 80, got married in April 1957.
Through the marriage, they were blessed with eight children, yet two of them passed away.
He is also blessed with 32 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
