Man crushed to death by forklift in Sabah
SANDAKAN - A man has died after being crushed by a forklift in Jalan Karamunting Pelabuhan Sabah, here, on Tuesday.
In the incident at about 5.30am, the 60-year-old victim identified as Said Hassan who was operating the machine was believed to have lost control which then led to him being crushed.
Sandakan fire and rescue station chief Jimmy Lagung said they received a distress call regarding the incident at 5.46am.
He said eight personnel were rushed to the scene located about 12 kilometres from the fire station.
"The victim during the time of the incident was operating the forklift to lift machines.
"The operations to extract the victim was done by using the factory forklift and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene by a medical officer," he said when contacted on Tuesday.
He added that the victim's body has been handed over to the police for further action.
"The operations ended at 7.55am," he said.
