ALOR SETAR - Pas consistently rejects political cooperation with DAP and Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) compared to Umno, which is alleged to be 'two-faced' as they have a 'secret relationship' with PKR as revealed by former Barisan Nasional (BN) secretary-general Tan Sri Annuar Musa.

Pas Election Director Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor said due to that, Pas rejected the formation of a 'big tent' which was claimed to include Pakatan Harapan (PH).

He said the decision of Pas is final as stated by the party president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang prior to this.

"This is Pas' stand, so there should be no issue of Pas is not ready to face the 15th General Election (GE15) because there is no 'big tent'.

"Before Umno or any party know about the proposed 'big tent', Abdul Hadi and the Pas Central Committee have taken a stand rejecting any political cooperation with DAP and PKR," he told Sinar Harian.

Sanusi, who is also the Kedah Menteri Besar said Annuar’s revelation last year on the statutory declaration (SD) involving the support of the Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman and several Umno leaders for Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to be appointed as Prime Minister proved the party's true attitude.

“In contrast to Umno which allegedly rejected cooperation with DAP and Anwar as stated at the Umno General Conference but the president himself (Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi) had a 'secret relationship' with Anwar.

"It was revealed through telephone conversations and SD letter to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong stating that Umno supports Anwar as Prime Minister.

"It was revealed by Annuar himself, where a secret meeting of several figures in Umno with Anwar was held on October 13 last year," he added.

In this regard, Sanusi stressed that it is better for Umno to see what they were doing rather than to point the finger at others.

“Perak Umno also collaborates with DAP in Perak, and this is no longer a secret.

The cooperation, among others, was agreed to provide equal allocation to the government's State Assemblymen (ADUN), namely BN, Pas and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) apart from DAP and PH.

“The drama of Perak government formation after Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu was overthrown is not a secret. Don't think the people don't know," he added.

Sanusi said this when commenting on Kedah Umno’s statement which claimed that Pas was not ready to face the election, causing the party to refuse to hold GE15 earlier.

The rejection of Pas was linked to the possibility that the party has not yet found a place in the 'big tent' formula involving PH which was also joined by DAP and Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah).

On Saturday, Sanusi was reported saying that Malaysia would be ruined if the people chose 'one or two power-mad leaders' who only wanted to save themselves to govern the country.

It followed a statement made by Zahid that Pas is not interested in holding GE15 earlier because they were afraid of losing 18 seats owned by the party at this time.
