Agong attends Trooping the Colour ceremony
PUTRAJAYA - Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah today graced the Trooping the Colour ceremony at Dataran Pahlawan Negara, here.
Also present at the ceremony, held in conjunction with His Majesty's official birthday celebration, was Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah.
Upon arrival, His Majesty was greeted by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob and his wife Datin Seri Muhaini Zainal Abidin.
The five colours paraded in the ceremony were that the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN), Royal Malay Regiment (RMR), Royal Ranger Regiment (RRR), Royal Armoured Regiment and the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) During the ceremony, five Malaysian Armed Forces aircraft comprising three EC725AP helicopters, an Agusta 109 and a Superlynx performed a flypast while bearing the Jalur Gemilang, armed forces, army, RMN and RMAF flags led by Major-Gen Nazrul Nizam Ismail from the RMAF's No 10 Squadron with a 21-gun salute by the 41st ceremonial Battery of the Royal Artillery Regiment led by Lieutenant-Colonel Mohammad Asri Che Wil.
The ceremony involved 131 officers and 1,066 members of other ranks of which 57 officers and 847 personnel of other ranks were led by 18th Battalion Royal Malay Regiment commanding officer Lieutenant- Colonel Mohd Fadzly Yasin.
Also present were Senior Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein, Home Minsiter Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin and Senior Education Minister Datuk Dr Mohd Radzi Md Jidin
