SHAH ALAM - Isham Jalil has been removed as the Selangor Barisan Nasional (BN) information chief with immediate effect.

The former special officer to Datuk Seri Najib Razak informed the matter through a Facebook post, today.

According to a letter signed by Selangor BN secretary Datuk Dr Mohamad Satim Diman, the decision was made through discussions with the coalition chairman, in accordance with Clause 23 of the BN Constitution which states that there are no provisions for the chairman of the state BN committee to appoint an information chief.

He attached the letter dated June 3, 2022, to his post.

In his post, he thanked those who had worked alongside him throughout his tenure as the Selangor BN information chief.

"Based on the letter, the state chief information post I held was not stipulated in the party's Constitution.

“Our fight is not yet over, so I hope everyone will continue the fight and all efforts even though I am no longer under the state party's leadership.

“I will help as much as I can even though I am not holding any posts and will continue the struggle as an ordinary member as I did before," he wrote.
