PKR Dubious Voters: Abdullah Sani calls Rafizi to submit proof
SHAH ALAM - Rafizi Ramli must submit all evidence he has on the dubious number of voters he had previously claimed.
PKR Central Leadership Council (MPP) member Datuk Abdullah Sani Abd Hamid said it was impossible for a deputy presidential candidate to play on the perception of the matter.
“Complaints and grievances over the doubts in this election are not only coming from one side but also from Rafizi Ramli himself.
"He issued a statement on May 10 stating that there are about 54,000 dubious Keadilan voters.
“He said this based on his findings that there are 1,500 names registered with just one phone number alone.
"However, the allegations were dimmed down and were not followed up once he was unofficially announced as the winner for the post of deputy president of Keadilan," he said in a statement on Sunday.
He said this response to reports that 11 PKR Kalabakan Branch Committee Members who won uncontested resign en masse recently.
"It's not just issuing a statement that is seen as nothing more than just escaping," he said.
On another note, Rafizi through an interview with Sinar had previously claimed that his party had identified 54,000 dubious voter registers nationwide ahead of the party's election for the 2022-2025 term.
Meanwhile, Abdullah Sani said PKR Party Selection Committee (JPP), who plays a key role in the party takes full responsibility, needs to be more assertive and careful in examining every complaint.
He welcomed the statement from the Chairman of the SRC, Dr Zaliha Mustafa to conduct a forensic audit.
"I hope it can be implemented immediately by an independent body that has credibility and report the results of the investigation directly to the MPP so that all leaders are aware of the latest situation of the party election.
"However, apart from just waiting for the results of the independent body's forensic audit, I also demand that they be more proactive in conducting internal investigations into the complaints that have been submitted.
"Carry out a hearing session immediately and call Rafizi, Farhash (Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak) or any other relevant individuals.
"This can to some extent restore the confidence of PKR members who are fading towards," he said.
He said the party and its members had gone through a long period of struggle and challenges in order to uphold justice and reform in the country.
Abdullah Sani, who is Kapar MP, said the party elections this year has been smothered by controversies, complaints and protest - the most troubled in one in PKR history.
“This is a worrying development and needs to be taken seriously, especially involving complaints related to party elections.
“This election is very important, especially in PKR’s efforts to have a proper plan for the 15th General Election as the masses are focusing on to what extent will PKR be able to practice transparency, good governance, rule of law and the justice itself, “ he said.
