KUALA LUMPUR - Barisan Nasional (BN) members are told to revolutionise its image and approach to the rakyat or risk being left behind in the coming 15th General Elections.

The coalition’s deputy chairman Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan, commonly known as Tok Mat, cautioned members not rely on nostalgia or previous track record to woo voters.

In his opening address at the BN’s national convention today, Tok Mat said BN must come forward with a revolutionary image, "one that is cool but serious and promising".

"One that can produce a sense of trust among the rakyat and prove that BN is a ‘revolutionary idea’,” he said during his opening speech at BN's 48th anniversary at the World Trade Centre here today.

He said it was time to position itself to retake the federal administration and restore political stability.

“Just look at what happened to the country after BN was defeated in 2018. PH has failed to govern and they failed miserably,” he added.

Commenting further, he said Malaysia is falling behind in almost every aspect due to political instability. “Political instability has plunged Malaysia back by 20 years."

“Imagine, if this continues, Malaysia will become an under developed country,” he added.
