Car plunges into river: Two severely hurt, five sustain minor injuries

KLANG – Seven in a family cheat death when the Proton Exora they were travelling in plunged into a river at Jalan Haji Manan here yesterday.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department chief Norazam Khamis said two were severely injured while five others sustained minor injuries in the incident.

He said they received a call on the incident at 11.46pm and the victims were en route from Bukit Kapar to Rantau Panjang, Klang.

“Members of the public who were at the scene had assisted in getting five victims out, while the rescue team extricated two other victims who were pinned to the steering.

“The severely injured victims were the front passenger and the driver. All victims were handed over to Health Ministry personnel for further action,” he said.

Norazam said the rescue team took about 30 minutes to extricate the victim and the case was being investigated by the police.
