Police track students in Sandakan fight through viral video

SANDAKAN - Police are tracking down students involved in a fight after a video went viral on social media since Tuesday.

Sandakan police chief ACP Abdul Fuad Abdul Malek said his department has managed to identify the incident involving school students that took place in the district.

"The Sandakan District Police Headquarters (IPD) has been tracking down the students involved to assist in the investigation.

"The real cause of the fight is still under investigation and the case is being probed under Section 147 of the Penal Code," he said in a statement.

In the 21-second video, at least 10 male students in high school uniforms were seen fighting all the way to the street and several adult men were also seen trying to settle the fight

He added that the police would like to advise the public to not speculate over the incident.

"This is to avoid any confusion and annoyance from the community and to help the investigation that is being carried out by the police," he said.
