SHAH ALAM - Ampang PKR Branch Chief Candidate Datuk Hans Isaac expects his celebrity partner Altimet will win the post for the 2022 PKR Election.

Hans or his real name Gerald Hans Isaac, 51, said this was based on initial information he obtained.

"If he (Altimet) wins, we will give him our full support. Yesterday (Saturday) I congratulated him and told him that he was the new PKR Ampang Branch Chief, because I knew what was going on and he reacted cool. Whatever it is, we are waiting for the official decision,” he told Sinar Premium on Sunday.

Apart from Hans and Altimet, other candidates who also contested were Abdullah Md Zain, Sam Hoo Wai, Abdul Halim Mohamed Yusof, Daing Muhammad Reduan Bachok and Abdul Latif Shaari.

Hans said the results could already be expected by those who contested as the election used the ‘cai’ system.

"Most of this party's election is about the upcoming ‘cai’. It means we have the support, where it came from and we also know our numbers (support).

"I know about the support and how many people voted because we were the ones who called and invited them," he said.

Meanwhile, the Malaysian National Film Development Corporation (Finas) Former Chairman informed that he would continue his fight in PKR as usual even if the election result was not in his favour.

“I will continue the fight in PKR and my NGO. My intention is just to help unite Ampang, this is not a personal matter of wanting a position,” he said.

Meanwhile, Altimet, when asked about the prediction, said for now he can only leave it to fate after completing his responsibilities on Saturday.

"Alhamdulillah, everything is going well, we are just waiting for the results," he said.

In the meantime, he also congratulated all the other competitors who competed using a healthy approach.

"They ran a clean and efficient campaign, I learnt a lot from them," he said.

The PKR 2022 election took place on May 13 and ended yesterday involving Perak, Sabah and Sarawak states.

For online voting, it is held on May 17 for overseas voters and May 18 to 20 for voting members.
