Taman Pertama landslide: A house destroyed, eight others unsafe

KUALA LUMPUR – A house was destroyed while eight others were deemed unsafe for occupancy following a landslide at Lorong Selangat, Taman Pertama today.

KL Fire Department operations commander Mohd Azizi Abdullah said they received a distress call at 2.52am.

“A team of seven firemen from Tun Razak fire station were deployed to the scene.

“Upon arrival, the firemen found that the landslide had destroyed a house while eight others deemed unsafe,” he said in a statement.

He said that the police had ordered the residents to evacuate their houses and move to a safer place.

“No casualties were reported and the number of victims involved is still being investigated.

“Subsequent tasks have been handed over to respective agencies such as the police and Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB),” he said.
