Man arrested for threatening to kill mother
TANJUNG MALIM – Police arrested a man after he allegedly threatened to kill his mother in an incident in Felda Gunung Besout 5 in Sungkai.
The 27-year-old man was nabbed after the mother made a police report following the threat made over the phone at about 9pm.
Perak police chief Datuk Mior Faridalathrash Wahid said the 65-year-old woman claimed her son had intimidated her and threatened her saying, ‘Mom, you better not come home. If you come home, you’re dead’.
“The suspect was found to have a history of mental illness and was under medication.
“The treat was made because the man was in a rage as he refused to take the medication prescribed by doctors,” he told reporters today.
He said the suspect was taken to Slim River hospital for a medical checkup before he was sent to Hospital Bahagia Ulu Kinta, Tanjung Rambutan for further treatment in regards to his mental illness.
“In the incident, the man’s mother did not sustain any injuries as she was threatened over the phone.
“The police report was made to get the police’s help to bring the man to the hospital,” he said.
