SHAH ALAM - As a controversial picture of former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak with a woman surfaced online, speculations arose whether he had married for the third time.

Politicians and netizens were also quick to congratulate Najib on his ‘newfound happiness’, even though the rumour has not been confirmed.

Among them was Bersatu Youth chief Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal who took the chance to congratulate Najib in a comment when the latter posted a visit by Singaporean foreign minister Vivian Balakrishnan yesterday.

“Selamat Pengantin Baru Dato’ Seri!” he wrote.

At the time of writing, Wan Fayhsal’s post had received 805 reactions and 318 replies.

Meanwhile, Najib’s former special officer Isham Jalil said he was happy for the former premier if the rumour was true.

“If the picture was authentic and Bossku (Najib) had indeed remarried, I am happy for him,” he told Sinar Premium.

Isham said Najib had gone through many challenges these past years and he deserved to choose his own happiness.

However, if the pictures were not legit, individuals who spread the message should come forward and apologise.

“If it’s not true, I hope the person who made the allegation apologises to Najib and his family,” he said.

Isham also encouraged wedded couples to stay loyal to their partners, as he himself had been faithful and married for 20 years.

However, he noted that life journey differs for every individual and the law did not prohibit anyone from marrying more than one.
