PUTRAJAYA - Approved permits (AP) will no longer be required to import food, with immediate effect, says Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
He said the move was to ensure adequate food supply in the country.
"We are open to anyone to import food into our country," he said.
"Previously there were various APs, but starting from today (Wednesday), it is no longer needed," he said at the Prime Minister's Department Hari Raya gathering, today.
