I will defend Alor Gajah seat, with or without Bersatu, says Redzuan
SHAH ALAM - Former Cabinet Minister Datuk Seri Redzuan Yusof says he is ready to defend his Alor Gajah parliamentary seat with or without Bersatu in 15th General Elections (GE15).
Redzuan who is the Bersatu supreme council member said personally he would still do so whether he receives approval from party president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
Redzuan had won the Alor Gajah seat under Pakatan Harapan's ticket by 6,980 majority.
"I will defend the seat whether I receive a mandate from our party president or not.
"They have their own strategy to ensure our party wins. We have seen that during the Malacca election," he said during an event in Bangi.
After winning the Alor Gajah seat in 2018, Redzuan was immediately appointed a minister in the Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad's administration as a special functions minister in the Prime Minister's Department.
He also denied claims that he has been on a low profile after not being appointed as a Cabinet minister under Datuk Seri Ismai Sabri Yaakob's administration.
"I am approaching grassroots quietly.
"We are aware of the situation on the ground now and the country needs to be brought back to the right track to ensure the younger generation a better future," he further said.
