SHAH ALAM - There are no plans or discussions between Pakatan Harapan (PH) and the government to extend the ongoing memorandum of understanding (MoU).

Amanah President Mohamad Sabu said the MoU which was signed earlier would remain until Parliament is dissolved.

"MoU 2.0 has not been discussed yet, we still have the old MoU so we are waiting for the parliamentary session to present the anti-hopping laws," he was quoted in Sinar Harian.

In March, DAP national organising secretary Loke Siew Fook had called on Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob to extend the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between Pakatan Harapan (PH) and the federal government last year, suggesting it be named MoU 2.0 once its expires in July 31.

Meanwhile, Amanah's communications director Khalid Samad said it is unnecessary to discuss the MoU 2.0 with the government now.

However, the Shah Alam MP added the government should fulfill the contents of the existing MoU that was signed between PH and the government last September.

"Anti-hoping laws is still pending so we urge it to be tabled and approved before the Parliamentary sitting this July," he said.

It is understood that the MoU expires on July 31.
