He said Educity Iskandar would also provide support to enhance the republic's educational ecosystem with the development of quality and prestigious programmes for Maldives domestic market.
"This collaboration will also see an exchange of knowledge and talent development for both the (Maldives) educators and student market segments. We are also confident to support the enhancement of their educational ecosystem by working together to collaborate on talent development,” Wan Ahmad Saifuddin said in a statement today.
Maldives Education Minister Dr Aishath Ali and Wan Ahmad Saifuddin were present at the document exchange ceremony at Iskandar Puteri yesterday.
Present were Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi and Iskandar Investment Bhd president and chief executive officer Datuk Khairil Anwar Ahmad, who is also EduCity Iskandar Malaysia chairman.
Meanwhile, Onn Hafiz said the collaboration would benefit Johor.
"The education sector will continue to be nurtured as it provides a foundation in generating world-class human capital, which is critical for our push for an inclusive and vibrant economic model premised upon the adoption of advanced technology.
"I am also pleased to note the role of various government-linked corporations such as IIB and EduCity Iskandar in bringing about collaborations of this nature, despite the disruptions caused by the pandemic over the past few years.
"This is a proof, not only of Johor's continued attractiveness and resilience, including the Iskandar Malaysia region, but also the hard work of our GLCs and government agencies," he said. - BERNAMA
