SHAH ALAM - The Health Ministry said it has never endorsed any product or food that could replace medicines including insulin to treat diabetes as claimed by the “Ainalienshop-TW" Facebook page.

In fact, the photos which were used to promote the product were edited, the ministry said in a tweet, today.

The ministry also urged the public to not be easily influenced and deceived by the claims made by any party in a statement that had not been verified.

“Again, the ministry would like to emphasise that merchants and producers to be more responsible and not take advantage and confusing the public," it wrote.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah in a tweet said this was yet another fake news made by those who were irresponsible for the interest of their business.

Last month, it was reported that a Facebook page under the name "Myspringshop-US" claimed that they were selling a tea product that can control blood sugar levels which had been certified by the ministry.

The ministry had denied endorsing such products.

The page was also found using edited photographs aimed at misleading the public.
