SHAH ALAM - The Iftar Ala Madinah @Karangkraf programme which took place since April 4 will be missed by the visitors as it comes to an end on Friday.

International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) student Muhammad Wa’ie Muhammad Rais, 24, said the programme should be continued next year as it has given people the chance to feel what it is like to break their fast in Madinah besides giving benefits to a lot of people.

He said he joined the event several times with his friends, this year, to not miss out on the experience of getting to break the fast while surrounded by others.

“This programme should be organised again in the future because it is a good thing as people could get together to break their fast.

“The food are provided for free so we could also save some money,” he told Sinar Harian.

Housewife Fadhilah Hanim Faizul, 34, said she and her family have joined the programme for five times to break their fast.

She said there was no other places that could offer such an experience.

"The parking here is easy, we could enjoy our meal in a spacious area and the food provided are also delicious.

"If there is an opportunity like this again, we will definitely come. Because it would tiring to cook at home everyday as we had a lot of work to do (during the day).

“So, here we can come sit and just eat, ” she said.

Meanwhile, Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) student Muhammad Fahimullah Sobahul Khairi said the Iftar Ala Madinah@Karangkraf was a very meaningful programme as the country had been under movement control (MCO) for two years.

Hailing from from Terengganu, the 20-year old said it was his first time getting to experience breaking fast with a big number of people in an open space.

“I felt a bit overwhelmed and excited at the same time because this is my first time getting to experience this while being away from my family," he added.

The Iftar Ala Madinah @ Karangkraf programme offers the public an opportunity to break fast like in Masjid Al-Nabawi, Madinah during the holy month of Ramadan.

The programme, held from April 4 to 29, is in collaboration with Sinar Harian, Karya Bestari and Warisan Ummah Ikhlas (WUIF).
