Nurul Izzah: Road tour after Raya to hear fence-sitters demands
SHAH ALAM - PKR's Permatang Pauh MP Nurul Izzah Anwar will hold a nationwide tour after the Hari Raya festival to hear the demands of fence-sitters.
She told Sinar Daily that it was crucial to hear the views, hopes and aspirations of the voters.
“We have to look at fence-sitters with conservative numbers," she said adding that she hopes to woo at least 5 percent of this group.
The ‘Ayuh Malaysia’ nationwide tour will be held after Hari Raya. It will start from Kuala Lumpur and Johor, adding that the dates will be announced soon.
The "Ayuh Malaysia" movement was launched to draw the support of fence-sitters as whispers of a snap general elections grow louder.
The movement is also to woo volunteers eager for a change to come forward and play their role in the election.
PKR's Rafizi Ramli who is also part of the movement said the results of the recent state elections showed the rakyat have lost faith in political parties.
The former Pandan MP said the situation was different before the 14th General Election and this attitude of not wanting to go out to vote could have a major impact on the country.
