KUALA LUMPUR - A policewoman who made a live TikTok video during a raid at an entertainment centre which then went viral has been transferred to the Johor Police Contingent headquarters (IPK).

The cop with the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) attached to the Bukit Aman Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (NCID) was transferred to the Johor IPK Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department and will assume duty as an ASP for the Johor Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Police Undergraduate Voluntary Corps known as Suksis.

The transfer was confirmed by Deputy Inspector-General of Police Datuk Razarudin Husain.

"The policewoman has been transferred to the Johor IPK and will have to report there by the end of May," he told Sinar Harian on Wednesday.

Bukit Aman Integrity and Standards Compliance Department (Jips) director Datuk Azri Ahmad said making a video while in uniform was not allowed unless the department permitted it for official purposes.

“Internal instructions has been issued on social media use since 2014.

“In any situation, making a video for social media content while in uniform is not allowed as it involves the image of the unit especially when the video was made for personal use.

“All members of the police force must remember to comply (with the rules) and not take advantage of the police uniform,” he told Sinar Harian.

The policewoman who was clad in a police operations jacket in the video received backlash after the TikTok live recording.

People were questioning her act saying that she had done so to gain popularity.

On Monday, Bukit Aman Narcotics CID director Datuk Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay said the policewoman had violated the standard operating procedures (SOP) and the police regulations.
